A host of businesses and individuals were recognized for their contributions to historic preservation as recipients of the 2016 Historic Preservation Awards, presented Thursday night by Scott Winnette,chairman of the Historic Preservation Commission.

Winners were:

Sarah Thiel Butner received Bricks and Mortar Rehabilitation award for her restoration and rehabilitation work at 41 and 43 E. Fifth St.;

Kate McConnell received the Community Leadership award for her service to the city in the field of historic preservation;

CV Frederick LLC, the HBW Group and Proffitt & Associates jointly received the Craftsmanship award for their masonry repairs in the reconstruction of a historic brick and stone wall at 45 E. All Saints St.; and

Hemby Custom Homes, Caddworks and Thomas J. Trott Jr. jointly received the New Construction award for three recently built houses at 122, 124 and 126 E. Fifth St.
