A Financial Benefits of Historic Preservation seminar, sponsored by the City of Hagerstown and the Maryland Historical Trust, will be held on the evening of April 23. The seminar will present available tax credit programs and grants that can be layered to make historic preservation more desirable. While it is geared toward Washington County, other jurisdictions may take ideas back to their communities for consideration.

Speakers include:

  • Nell Ziehl and Melissa Archer from the MHT speaking on Federal and State tax credits and state grants
  • Planning Director Stephen Goodrich from Washington County Planning speaking on Washington County’s Property Tax Credit Program
  • Planning Director Kathleen Maher speaking on Hagerstown’s various grant and downtown revitalization incentive programs.
