Excerpt from Gaithersburg Patch:

Those interested in watching the proceedings of the Gaithersburg Mayor and City Council, Planning Commission, Board of Appeals, and Historic District Commission now have another option for viewing. The meetings of these legislative bodies are available via live streaming on the City’s YouTube channel.

“The feature provides yet another venue to watch the City of Gaithersburg in action,” said Britta Monaco, Director of the City’s Department of Community and Public Relations. “Those interested in the workings of local government now have the convenience of watching our meetings on a platform with which they’re already quite familiar.”

Mayor and City Council Meetings and Work Sessions take place each Monday. The Planning Commission meets the first and third Wednesday of each month, while the Board of Appeals and Historic District Commissions meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, respectively. All meetings start at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Meetings dating back to January, 2015 are also available for viewing on YouTube. A more comprehensive archive is available on the City’s website.

For those not able to attend the meetings in person, other options for live viewing include GTV, the City’s Cable TV channel, available within the Gaithersburg City limits on Comcast and RCN channel 13 and FiOS channel 25. Meetings are also streamed live on the City’s website.

Gaithersburg’s YouTube channel also contains features and promotional videos as well select author presentations from the Gaithersburg Book Festival going back several years. The City’s presence on YouTube compliments its other social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. All are accessible with the name “GburgMD.”
