“Council members questioned representatives from the state Historic Preservation Office on what should and should not be part of the city’s historic district rules during a workshop Thursday, July 16 in City Hall.
Representatives Andrea Tingey and Jonathan Kinney attended the meeting, held to discuss proposed changes to the ordinance and give the residents a chance to comment on the changes, and answered many questions about what is typical for local historic districts.
…
Councilman Antwan McClellan asked if there was anything the state thought the city should add to the ordinance. Tingey said that the ordinance was very good.
‘We were talking about using it as a model or other communities that are writing ordinances because it’s very logical,’ she said.”
