Over 30 Frederick residents and businessmen last night asked the Board of Aldermen to create a Historic District Commission for the city. State Senator-elect Goodloe E. Byron, spokesman for the group, said the move was being led by the Fredericktown Association. “A Historic District Commission could do much to promote the preservation of buildings and other things of a historical significance and could well serve to draw additional tourist trade to the city,” he said.
