Lisa Craig, chief of the city’s historic preservation district, talked at length about the plans to unveil phase 1 of the Cultural Landscape Study.

This study attempts to catalog and prioritize key historic and cultural aspects of the city, such as the view of the State Capitol dome.

The first phase of the study will be submitted to the City Council on Dec. 21.

“The survey is really trying to answer the questions … what are the most important places, what are the most important view sheds, what is the bread and butter for the tourism industry,” Craig said.
